Meeting at the Oqsaroy on April 24 with Robert Blake, Assistant Secretary of State of the United States for South and Central Asia
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov met with Robert Blake, Assistant Secretary of State of the United States for South and Central Asia, on April 24 at the Oqsaroy.
The head of our country noted that owing to efforts of the two sides, the Uzbek-American relations are characterized as steadfast and long-term designated.
The fruitful bilateral interaction both at the interstate level and between representatives of business circles, academia and education as well as civil societies of Uzbekistan and the United States has been advancing consistently on the basis of principles of mutual respect and deference for interests.
During the conversation at the Oqsaroy, the two parties have exchanged views on pressing issues in regional and international affairs, concerning first and foremost the developments in Afghanistan.
The Assistant Secretary of State expressed gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for a warm meeting and the opportunity to discuss key aspects of the Uzbek-American relations, and confirmed the US leadership’s willingness to continue with the joint efforts directed at enhancing the multifaceted cooperation across a variety of areas.
