GDP growth comprises 6.2% in Uzbekistan in first half of the year
Growth of the gross domestic product in Uzbekistan comprised 6.2% in the first half of 2004, which is 1.6 times or 3.8% higher than in the same period last year.
This was announced at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan held to sum up the results of the first six months of the year.
In particular, industrial production increased 9.6%, growth in agriculture made up 10.4% and in transport and communication sector 7.6%.
The country?s foreign trade increased 24.5%, while exports went up 25.2% against the first half of 2003. Positive trade balance comprised 689.1 million dollars.
The growth of the real incomes of the population made up 16.7%.
