The signing the MOU between the National Center for Human Rights of Uzbekistan and International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL)

The Memorandum of Understanding between the National Center for Human Rights of Uzbekistan (NCHR) and a Washington-based International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL) was signed on March 11, 2013 during the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to Washington D.C.

The MOU envisages bilateral partnership between the two civic institutions on issues related to formation of civil society, development of a human rights culture, social oversight of government activities, its transparency, and social partnership as well as providing comments on draft laws.

NCHR Director Mr.Akmal Saidov and ICNL Vice-President Mrs.Natalia Bourjaily expressed their commitment to conduct constructive cooperation based on equality and respect for national legislations.

Signing the MOU is yet another sign of the strong commitment of the Government of Uzbekistan to a wider cooperation with the United States on human dimension, which is an integral part of the bilateral agenda.
