Press-Release on International Conference “Upbringing of educated and intellectually advanced generation as the most important condition of sustainable development and modernization of the country”
(February 16-17, 2012, Tashkent)
The International Conference “Upbringing of educated and intellectually advanced generation as the most important condition of sustainable development and modernization of the country” was held on 16-17 February, 2012, in Tashkent.
More than 275 well-known experts in the field of education, international analysts, executives and professors of foreign universities from dozens of countries around the world as well as the high-level representatives of international and regional organizations, like World Bank, Asian Development Bank participated in the Conference.
Particularly 21 American and Canadian high-level executives, professors and experts from Wayne State University, Texas A&M University, New York State University, Webster University, The University of Washington, Michigan State University, The George Washington University, The University of Wisconsin, The University of Nevada, Pittsburg State University, US State Department, Library of Congress, American Council for International Education, NESA Center for Strategic Studies and The University of Carleton (Canada) attended this important event.
The Conference covered the issues related to quality assurance and high standards of continuous education, introduction of new information and communication technologies and advanced methods into educational process, integration of education science and industry, as well as the cooperation between Uzbek and foreign educational entities and institutions in the spheres of education and personnel training.
In the framework of this Conference participants also visited schools, professional colleges, universities in Tashkent and familiarized with tangible effects of ongoing educational reforms and conditions created for students. Besides, a cultural program for participants, including the travel to historical cities, like Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva was organized.
