ALMALYK MINING AND SMELTING PLANT HAS LAUNCHED THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE LARGEST INVESTMENT PROJECT ‘DEVELOPMENT OF THE DALNEYE DEPOSIT’
The project aims at ensuring balanced development, support and expansion of Almalyk MSP’s production facilities.
As a result, the raw material capacity of the plant will be strengthened by developing copper and molybdenum deposits of the Dalneye field and building a new mining and smelting complex using modern technologies and equipment in line with international standards, energy efficiency requirements and environmental standards.
The project will be carried out in 2017-2028 in two stages. The first stage is scheduled for 2017-2021, and envisages the development of the Central Quarry of the Dalneye field, including overburden and mining works, construction of production, transportation, energy and support infrastructure facilities, as well as procurement of mining, transportation and other equipment.
The second stage (2019-2028) envisages the construction of a complex of processing, smelting, additional and support facilities with a processing capacity of 23 million tons of ore per year with the concurrent continuation of overburden and mining operations.
