IN THE FIRST NINE MONTHS OF THE CURRENT YEAR, ALL TYPES OF TRANSPORT IN UZBEKISTAN CARRIED MORE THAN 1.17 BILLION TONS OF CARGO, WHICH IS A 4.8% INCREASE YEAR ON YEAR
As reported by the State Statistics Committee, "the share of road transport was 91.8% (1.07 billion tons), railway transport stood at 4.3% (50.8 million tons), pipeline transport accounted for 3.9% (45.7 million tons) in the total volume of transported cargo.”
The share of road transport was 37.3%, pipeline transport - 36.5%, railway transport - 26.1% in the turnover structure.
5.6 billion passengers were transported in January-September with a four percent increase against the same period in 2015. The largest proportion in passenger traffic accounted for road transport - 99%, its share in passenger turnover amounted to 89.5%.
15.5 million people traveled by rail with a two percent increase YOY. The passenger turnover in January-September 2016 increased by 2.9% and exceeded 2.95 billion passenger-kilometers.
