Egyptian radio about the elections in Uzbekistan
National radio of Egypt aired a series of special programs dedicated to the election of the President of Uzbekistan.
They provide information on the outcome of the elections, estimates of Egyptian observers, who were monitoring the electoral process in our country.
As reported by radio, 18 million 942 thousand 349 people participated in the voting, or 91.08% of the total number of voters and according to the final results of elections, Islam Karimov, nominated by the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen - Liberal Democratic Party, obtaining 17 million 122 thousand 597 votes, won the election for the post of President.
Its emphasized that the evidence of democracy and transparency of the election campaign was the participation of 299 observers from 43 countries, as well 5 international organizations.
Egyptian experts were unanimous in their opinion that the presidential elections in Uzbekistan were another significant step in strengthening democracy and the consolidation of society. They highlighted the convenience for foreign observers, who are fully able to carry out monitoring and review of the electoral process.
