Biography of the candidate for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akmal Kholmatovich Saidov
Candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan \"Milly Tiklanish\" A.Kh Saidov was born in 1958 in Yangiyul district of Tashkent region.
Saidov is Uzbek. He has higher education, graduated from Tashkent State University. Doctor of Law. Akmal Saidov is the member of the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan \"Milly Tiklanish.\"
In 1985-1989 he worked as a senior researcher and a head of the Institute of Philosophy and Law in Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, in 1989-1991as the Chairman of the Committee of Youth Organizations of Uzbekistan, in 1991-1992 as the Director of the Institute of Philosophy and Law in Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, in 1992- 1993 as the Director of the Institute of world problems under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in 1993-1994 as the rector of Tashkent State Law Institute.
In 1994-1996 he worked as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the French Republic, at the same time he was the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan to UNESCO.
From November 1996 Saidov works as the Director of the National Centre for Human Rights.
In 1997 he was elected to the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.
From 2000 to the present time Saidov is the chairman of the Committee for democratic Institutions, NGOs and institutions of local governing of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.
From the first years of independence, Akmal Saidov has been actively involved in the formation of the foundations of the national legal system. He was a member of the Constitutional Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was directly involved in the drafting of laws aimed at creating the legal framework of civil society, the improvement of the activities of NGOs, local authorities and the media.
He is the chairman of the parliamentary group \"Uzbekistan - Belgium\", a member of the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee \"Uzbekistan - European Union\"
Saidov participated in various United Nations conferences on human rights, the activities of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on the Human Dimension, the structures of the European Union and other international forums.
Akmal Saidov - Professor of International and Comparative Law, a member of a number of foreign and international law societies and associations, the author of textbooks, scientific papers and articles on the law.
Married. Has two children.
He was awarded the \'Mehnat shuhrati\" and \"Dustlik\" orders.
