Uzbekistan is planning to hold open auctions to develop seven uranium deposits, a senior Uzbek official said in Tashkent on 10 September.

Several meetings have been held in Beijing between the representatives of Uzbekneftegaz (Uzbek oil and gas) national holding company and Chinese firms which ended with signing of a package of bilateral documents.

The seminar “Normative and legal foundations of protecting the rights of the child and prophylaxis of offences among minors” took place in Tashkent, the report by the Narodnoye slovo newspaper said September 11.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed a law to introduce amendments to article 17 of Family Code of Uzbekistan. The law was passed by the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on 11 March 2009 and Senate approved it on 29 August 2009.
