President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has greeted the leader of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai on the occasion of national holiday, Independence Day.

On August 5, 2011 on the initiative of the Committee on the Issues of Defense and Security of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis held “round table” on “Ensuring peace and security in the country - the guarantor of development” at Djizakh regional administration. It was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Djizakh regional administration, and regional offices of the National Security Service, Internal Affairs, Customs and Tax Committees, civil defense, education, health care, as well as asset and representatives of the mass media.
