Kurban Hayit to be celebrated on 16 November
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution on 9 November on celebrating Kurban Hayit holiday on 16 November.
The document acknowledges the role and significance of Kurban Hayit in the spiritual life of the people, and stresses that this holiday is an expression of kindness and mercy, tolerance and generosity.
Based on the proposal of the Uzbekistan Muslims Board, the head of the state proclaimed the first day of Kurban Hayit, 16 November, as a day off.
The President entrusted Nuroniy and Mahalla funds, as well as Kamolot youth movement and other state and public organizations to hold the holiday on the high level.
The National TV and Radio Company, the National News Agency and other media have been recommended to widely cover the holiday-related events.
