Central Election Commission approves instruction on voting at places of residence
Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan published instructions on 23 December 2004 on the order of voting at places of residence.
The commission resolved that voting at places of residence or living can be organized exclusively for citizens that cannot come to the polling station due to their health condition.
At least two members of the district election commission have to be present during voting at the place of residence.
The voters can request the district election commission to organize voting at their place of living at the latest two hours before the voting time expires.
In accordance with the Central Election Commission?s resolution, representatives of the district commissions are prohibited to visit the places of voters? residence without the latter?s request. Agitation for a certain candidate while the citizen is voting is also prohibited.
Members of the election commissions visiting voters at their places of residence should bring a sealed voting box and special bulletins with them.
