USAID ORGANISES WORKSHOP FOR TASHKENT ECONOMICS STUDENTS
US-funded project organized a seminar to discuss marketing, sales and export issues at the Tashkent State Economics University.

USAID Enterprise Development Project initiated the workshop and plans to organize similar seminars in other universities throughout the Central Asian region.

The project also developed manuals on experience gathered from implementation of the project and handed them over to participants.

Patrick Cadian, deputy director of the USAID Enterprise Development Project, said: ?We all study using manuals, which mainly state theory. Our manuals are based on real and concrete examples. Schemes developed by our specialists on improvement of private businesses work effectively.?

The Enterprise Development Project (EDP) is a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) project, implemented by the Pragma Corporation.

The EDP is concerned with expanding opportunities for participation, livelihood and quality of life for citizens of five Central Asian counties: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

This they do by enhancing the competitiveness and managerial capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises.
