SCO Participating States Emergency Bodies’ Heads Meet in Tashkent
On April 21 this year Tashkent hosted the Fifth Meeting of heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) participating states’ agencies that deal with preventing and addressing the emergency situations, according to the national newspapers.
The representatives of corresponding bodies in the Republic of Kazakhstan, People’s Republic of China, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan are reported to have participated in the Meeting.
The partakers of the Meeting spoke on the largest emergencies to have taken place in the SCO participating states for over the last year, the lessons learned and the measures being undertaken in terms of preventing such situations.
Also, the Sides are reported to have exchanged views on the prospects of further cooperation in the area of preventing and liquidating emergencies in the SCO framework.
On the outcomes of the Meeting the Sides inked its Protocol.
The partakers of the Meeting have thanked the Uzbek Side for a preparation and organization of the Meeting on the business-like and constructive basis, according to the reports.
This summer – June 10-11 – Tashkent will also be hosting the major SCO event – the Summit of heads of the SCO participating states.
