In spite of the global financial crisis, administration of the Uzbek car production giant GM Uzbekistan believes 2009 was not bad. The plant has started entering new sales markets.

\"We have set task for 2010 – to enter the markets of North Africa and South America, as well to start selling our cars in Afghanistan,\" Tohir Jalilov, managing director for marketing, sales and auto service of GM Uzbekistan, said in an interview with AvtoOlam magazine.

\"We hope that having taken positions in the markets, where our competitors operate, we will raise the level of sales and retain our traditional volumes. I believe the quality of Uzbek cars will become better, which will undoubtedly gladden buyers in the domestic market,\" he added.
