PARLIAMENTARIANS ROUND TABLE DISCUSSES HUMAN RIGHTS ADHERENCE
Observance of human rights in activity of law enforcement bodies was considered by a round table at the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan last Friday, an Uzbek agency reported.
Representatives of corresponding ministries and departments, law enforcement bodies, NGOs, Constitutional Court, Supreme Court, Prosecutor?s Office and others participated in the event, according to UzA.
The report said the event aimed at enhancing and increasing opportunities of Uzbek people in protection and observance of rights and freedoms, expanding ties with international and human rights organization and deepening legal knowledge of population.
Ombudsman of Uzbekistan and law enforcement bodies are cooperating for interests of the population and monitor human rights observance, the report said.
The event participants called for deepening cooperation between state and public structures on observance of human rights.
