The Kengash (Council) of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a session on 17 November, chaired by Senate Chairman Ilgizar Sobirov.

The Kengash adopted a resolution on holding the 20th plenary session of the Senate on 4-5 December.

The agenda of the plenary includes consideration of the state budget for 2010, as well as the employment program for the next year.

The senators will also consider a number of laws, including those on introducing changes to the Tax Code, to the Administrative Responsibility Code, to the Law on Securities Market and other documents.

The upper chamber of the parliament of Uzbekistan will also review the implementation of the Senate’s resolution on the responsibility of the local authorities for the implementation of the Anti-crisis program for 2009-2012.
