Uzbek-Japanese cooperation developing
The press conference on the cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan within Japan’s Official Development Assistance program was held in Tashkent.
The ambassador of Japan Tsutomu Hiraoka and the head of JICA representative office Yukihiko Ejiri said the relations between the two countries were developing successfully.
Uzbekistan and Japan signed a Joint statement on friendship, strategic partnership and cooperation in 2002. Japan widely supports reforms implemented in various areas in Uzbekistan.
Japan is one of the most active economic and investment partners of Uzbekistan. Since the two states established diplomatic relations, Japan invested about USD 2 billion in the country.
At the press conference, journalists were informed on the joint projects and cooperation in the fields of economy, agriculture, education, healthcare, environmental protection, transport and transport communications.
