The Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan hosted a seminar on the legal bases of protection of children’s rights and preventing crimes among children, UzA reported.

The forum was organized on the initiative of the parliamentary Committee for democratic institutes, NGOs and citizens’ self-government bodies jointly with UNICEF office in Uzbekistan.

The participants noted that ensuring the rights and interests of the children and youth, protection of their health and creating conditions for their physical, intellectual and moral growth were among the priority directions of the state policy.

Numerous state programs have been implemented in Uzbekistan aimed at ensuring the children’s rights, freedoms and interests. A number of laws have been passed which are also aimed at this.
