Event Addresses Legal Bases of Protecting Child Rights
The event has been organized by the Committee on democratic institutions, non-state organizations and citizens’ self-governance bodies at the Legislative (Lower) Chamber of the Uzbek parliament alongside with UNICEF.
Those, who took a floor at the seminar, have said that at the moment Uzbekistan stood as a country that alongside with others participates in implementing of more than 40 international documents related to protection of the right of children and youth. Also, according to them, Uzbekistan pays a considerable attention to ensuring the comprehensive development of the forthcoming generation.
The rights and lawful interests of children and youth, state of their health, education and spiritual development are the most important priorities of state policy in Uzbekistan. At the moment, with consolidation of the nation’s independence the new generation emerges which differs on its progressive views and democratic way of thinking.
The lawmakers of the Lower House of parliament, staff members of the UNICEF, other international organizations, as well as the ministries, agencies and mass media participated in the seminar, according to the newspaper.
