Uzkommunhizmat agency of Uzbekistan and Spain’s Elecnor and Atlas Consorcion AIE signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation, which envisages development and realization of joint investment projects in water supply, environment protection, sewage treatment and processing of domestic wastes.

Currently, the sides are discussing issues on implementation of the project on modernization and reconstruction of heating system in Andijan city. Spanish government allocated soft loan to implement the project.

The project implementation will optimize heating system and improve service quality to consumers. The project will allow to cut emission of carbonic acid gas and decrease gas consumption in heat supply.

The sides started develop documents for construction of plants on firm waste production in Nukus and Namangan. These plants will produce compost for needs of agriculture industry. The projects will serve as prototypes for reconstruction municipal services in other settlements in Uzbekistan.
