As reported earlier, chairman of Oliy Majlis (parliament) of Uzbekistan, Erkin Khalilov, opened the 16th session of the parliament noting results of the parliament?s successful activity in the past five years.

?A number of laws and governmental documents were adopted. Deputies of the current convocation have created a solid foundation for work of the bicameral parliament in the future,? he said.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov delivered speech at the meeting emphasizing the vast contribution of the parliament in the country?s positive reforms. President also shared his opinion on the forthcoming elections.

After that, heads of different factions and blocks spoke at the session summing up activity of their parties.

Currently, the session is continuing its work.
