AZERBAIJANI MEDIA: “THE COMPETITIVENESS OF UZBEK FABRICS IS IMPROVING”
Azerbaijani mass media widely covered the participation of Uzbekistan in the 74th plenary session of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), held in Mumbai (India).
Trend stressed sustainable economic growth and improvement of Uzbekistan’s industrial potential. In addition, the source reported that the meeting discussed issue of “Uzpahtasanoateksport” single holding company’s construction in our country. “These measures will allow to joint the work on receiving and processing of raw cotton, production of a fiber, cotton seed crushing, as well as scientific research in the areas”.
According to Ethno Globus, the establishment of the new company will improve product quality and the technology of primary processing of cotton, which generally increase the cost-effectiveness of the sector.
It also noted consistent and structural changes in the industry that improve the image and competitiveness of Uzbek fabrics in the world market. “With the maintaining of a stable fiber production its internal processing volumes in the country’s the textile mills are also growing”.
In turn, Turkish Forum cited a number of participants’ evaluations, who support Uzbekistan’s efforts to implement the principles of corporate governance of the cotton sector and ensure its sustainable development. “Delegates to the plenary session also underlined a great contribution of Uzbek scientists, growers and breeders to the development of the world cotton industry”.
Thus, source concluded by citing the words of ICAC executive director J.Sette: “Uzbekistan is one of the key countries in the world with high potential in production, processing and export of cotton fiber. In this regard, I wish to note that the association of the republic’s all cotton complex into a holding company will further develop the sector”.
