SURVEY: 98,2% OF UZBEKISTAN’S CITIZENS ARE SATISFIED WITH THE REPUBLIC’S MODERN DEVELOPMENT
“Ijtimoiy Fikr” Center for Public Opinion Research conducted a sociological survey on the results of 2015.

Results of the study clearly showed that the Year of attention and care for the older generation has been one of the productive on the number of implemented solutions in the process of modernization and reform in all spheres of life. According to 90,8% of the citizens, the past year has been stable and effective. They express absolute confidence in the future. The main factors of the trust in a prosperous future are peace and prosperity in the country, political and socio-economic stability.

The research confirmed that nationwide support of the country’s course of reforms is indisputable fact. The vast majority of respondents, 98,2%, positively defines the country’s contemporary socio-economic development.

Survey respondents indicated that the country will achieve even higher rate in all spheres of life in the upcoming Year of healthy mother and child. The vast majority of residents in all regions of the country (nearly 90%) are convinced in it.

Public opinion monitoring revealed the growth of families’ material wealth and quality of life. Most of the respondents mark “good” their family finance. The data compared with the results of the previous years show positive dynamics of the estimates.

The survey showed the significantly increased people’s respect for the law. The research’s revealed results on international methodology “Citizens’ social well-being index” confirmed the high level of the population’s legal security. Thus, this year 92,9% of respondents said that their rights and freedoms, enshrined in the Constitution, are fully protected.

Large-scale work carried out under the State program “the Year of attention and care for the older generation” is highly valued by the population. In particular, 96,5% of respondents say positive things about the measures taken to enhance the care and attention to the representatives of venerable age. Public opinion shows that a significant increase in the living standards of the elderly, improved social conditions of residence, particularly war veterans and labor front of 1941-1945 are achieved by increasing wages, pensions, benefits, and targeting subsidies, including targeted financial and social assistance.

The research participants noted that the progressive Uzbekistan’s development in the years of independence and the state high prestige in the international arena are largely determined by political and socio-economic stability in the country. In the past, and this year the citizens of the republic participated actively in parliamentary and presidential elections, which was a manifestation of patriotism, the increased level of legal culture of personal responsibility for the fate of their homeland.

The vast majority of the population (over 90%) appreciates Uzbekistan’s success in maintaining stability, interethnic and inter-religious peace and harmony in society.

According to the survey, the Uzbek people have expressed their full confidence that the new year will continue the policy of democratization and liberalization of society, the formation of modern, dynamic and steadily developing state, deepening of economic and social reforms, improving the welfare of citizens and the quality of life.
