According to the Economy Ministry of Uzbekistan, the amountof attracted foreign investments to Uzbekistan in 2006 had increased by 20%.

895.7 million US dollars were attracted in 2006.

The foreign investments, attracted on garranties of Uzbekistan Government have increased by 5.4% and totaled 211.9 million US dollars in 2006. The direct internal investments have grown by 25.4%. The total sum of the direct foreign investments was worth 683.8 million US dollars in 2006.

The investments were attracted into oil and gas, electrical energy, non-ferrous metal, machine building and light industries. 34.6% of investments were forwarded to the fuel and energy, chemiscal industry, engineering and metallurgy also 17.8% of investments were directed to the agriculture and water irrigation, agrocultural producats processing and consumer goods manufacturing.
