Tashkent hosts \"round table\" with participation of \"Grant Thornton\" world-famous company
\"Round table\" with the participation of «Grant Thornton» world-famous company and banks of Uzbekistan took place within the framework of the IV Tashkent International Banking Forum.
During the event, representatives of «Grant Thornton» told in detail about the company, current trends in corporate governance and auditing in the banking sector.
«Grant Thornton Uzbekistan» Managing Partner Nematulla Karimov said the international organization «Grant Thornton» is part of the so-called \"big six\" international auditing companies and has been the fastest growing and most dynamic brand for professional services on the global market for the last three years. To date, the company\'s offices are represented in 130 countries, more than 40 thousand people work in its structure. In 2014, the company reported revenues of 4.7 billion US dollars.
In turn, Vice-President, Head of Banking Direction \"Financial and Accounting Consultants» of «Grant Thornton» Alexey Terekhov (Russia) focused on the current trends in the development of corporate governance (CG) and international experience in this field. It should be noted that within large-scale work carried out in Uzbekistan on implementation of modern methods of corporate governance in joint stock companies, the topic today is very important.
- The main goal of CG is to develop and implement common standards and regulations - said the expert. - They allow potential partners and investors receive a full and objective picture of the company, its strategy and efficiency in order to make a quick decision whether to invest their capital in it or not. I am confident that this meeting will contribute to wide dissemination of best practices and standards of CG and will have a beneficial effect on the reputation of the companies and banks that intend to follow them.
Speaking at the event partner of «Grant Thornton» Company Arman Chingilbayev (Kazakhstan) provided detailed information on internal audit in the banking sector. According to him, an internal audit helps banks and other financial institutions to achieve the objectives using a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and corporate governance.
