President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed the Law \"On making amendments and addenda in the Civil, Housing codes of the Republic of Uzbekistan and on losing validity of the Law \"On bases of state housing policy\".

The law on amendments in the civil and housing codes of Uzbekistan entered into force on Tuesday, 9 January 2007. It was adopted by the Legislative Chamber on 19 May 2006 and approved by the Senate on 30 November 2006.

The amendments introduced in the Civil Code concretize the structure of general property in the block of flats, establish peculiarities of possession and use of them in private housing associations.

The amendments in the Housing Code revise the provisions connected with management, maintenance and repair of housing fund, legal relationships in this sphere.
