The Law \"On the guarantees of activity of nongovernmental nonprofit organizations\" has entered into force.

The law is intended to provide the guarantees for the establishment and activity of nongovernmental not-for-profit organizations, protect their rights and legal interests, expand social partnership and improve the mechanisms of state support of these organizations. Such state support will come in the form of subsidies, grants, and state social orders.

The law was passed by the Legislative Chamber on 11 October 2006, and ratified by the Senate on 1 December of the same year. President Karimov signed the law on 3 January 2007.
