The second qualifying World Cup tour o?n arm-wrestling has come to an end in Saint Petersburg. Uzbek arm-wrestlers are reported to have secured the second place in overall team score result following the Russian athletes.

Members of Uzbek team showed good results o?n individual contests, as well. Jasur Aliakberov won two gold medals, while two gold medals went to Dmitriy Dokuchaev and Farkhod Khudoyarov. Alisher Khudoyarov and Jamshid Usmanov took two silvers and Elidat Usmanov - bronze, Information Agency ?Jahon? reported.

For over the year 2005 the Uzbek team of arm wrestlers, led by the head coach of the team and vice president of the Arm Wrestling Association of Uzbekistan Alisher Yusupov, brought home more than hundred medals from competitions all around the world, and yet o?nly from Japan ? 18 awards.

Also, Uzbek team is expected to participate at the third tour of World Cup contests due in September this year in Tajikistan. In the late October and early November this fall the team shall participate at the World Cup to take place in Manchester.
