Uzbek Ombudsman receives over 6,000 appeals in 2005
The Uzbek Ombudsman received 6,142 complains from citizens in 2005, parliamentary human rights commissioner Sayyora Rashidova said at the meeting in Uzbek Parliament.
Uzbek Ombudsman had briefed the Parliament on the ombudsman\'s work in 2005.
Over the review period, the Ombudsman received 6,142 appeals from citizens in 2005, of them, 1,754 were taken under control and 242 were resolved in favor of the complainants.
Most of the appeals were complains about problems in the utility service, she said.
The Uzbek parliament\'s lower house had approved of the ombudsman\'s work in 2005.
