Agricultural business consulting centers assist Uzbek farmers
Independent structures - agricultural business consulting centers (ABCC) - intended to provide consulting services to farmers are being created in the framework of the World Bank Project on Supporting the Restructuring of Agricultural Enterprises.
ABCCs will work on self-finance conditions, covering their costs by the payments received from the farmers.
Overall, to date ABCCs have conducted 310 seminars with participation of some 8,500 farmers and other agricultural specialists. ABCCs play an important role in provision of assistance to the farmers in preparing business plans and obtaining loans from the banks.
According to UzReport, in general, the total of 626 business plans have been prepared for the total amount of some US$12 million. ABCCs also assist farmers in the sale of above-the-quota fibre products through alternative market channels.
