President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov is receiving congratulatory messages from heads of state of foreign countries on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, an Uzbek TV reported on 2 November.

?On behalf of the US government and its people I would like to congratulate you and the people of Uzbekistan on Eid al-Fitr?, the US President George Bush said.

He said that in his message: ?The fact that Muslims living in our countries are celebrating this holiday of spiritual and moral cleansing at the very moment reminds us the significance of freedom of conscience.? ?I hope that the conformity of our views and the cooperation between our states will elevate next year?, US President George Bush concluded.
