New governor of Tashkent region appointed
Extraordinary session of Tashkent Regional People?s Deputies Council was held on 7 November.
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, who participated in the session, noted the high potential of the region, namely in the fields of agriculture, industry and construction, as well as land, water and mineral resources.
However, despite certain achievements, there are still many shortcomings in the work of some governing officials in the region, which cause dissatisfaction of the population, the head of the state said.
Production decreased at 37 enterprises, leading to reduction of production by nearly UZS 77bn. Of companies created with participation of foreign capital, 43 are not working, he added.
The President also highlighted shortcomings in the field of agriculture, small business and social sector.
The session participants considered the organizational issue, and approved relieve of Qozim Tulaganov from the post of the regional H?kim (governor).
On the recommendation of Islam Karimov, Mirzamashrap Kuchchiyev was appointed the new governor.
Previously, Kuchchiyev was governor of Bekabad district.
