EurAsEC Secretary-General to create group on accession of Uzbekistan
Chairman of interstate council of Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) and President of Belarus Alexander Lukoshenko ordered to Secretary-General of EurAsEC Grigoriy Raporta to create working group on accession of Uzbekistan to organization.
President Lukoshenko also entrusted Raporta to organize activity of the working group.
Uzbekistan submitted application to EurAsEC in early October to integrate Central Asian Cooperation organization to EurAsEC.
The Eurasian Economic Community was created by Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan on the basis of the Customs Union for further effective advancement of regional integration processes. The agreement on the foundation of the EurAsEC was signed on 10 October 2000 and came into force on 30 May 2001.
The main goal of the Community is to complete formation of the customs union and create a common economic space, within which there will be free movement of goods, services, capital and workforce.
