President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov ratified an Uzbek-Chinese partnership agreement.

The President Karimov signed a Law ?On ratification of agreement on friendship and cooperative partnership between Uzbekistan and China? on 9 September.

The treaty demonstrates two nations common will and determination to keep traditional friendship. It also lays down a sound political and legal foundation for the long-term development of China-Uzbekistan ties.

The agreement was signed on 25 May during official visit of the Uzbek leader to China.

Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan passed the document on 8 July 2005 and Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan adopted law on 27 August 2005.
