Working group to monitor investigation of Andijan events meets Uzbek Deputy Prosecutor
On 7 September, members of the working group to monitor the investigation of the events in Andijan met First Deputy Prosecutor-General of Uzbekistan A.Nabiyev.
The official told the group members about the investigation and the established facts, as well as organizers of the events and their links with international terror groups.
The group was told that materials on 15 most active participants of the events would be submitted to Supreme Court in the nearest future.
A.Nabiyev stressed that the investigation had established that terrorist acts in Andijan were a carefully planned action, organized by outside destructive forces against the constitutional order of Uzbekistan.
Speaking about the number of casualties, the official said representatives of some foreign media had deliberately distorted the facts with the aim to form the opinion about the alleged shootings on peaceful demonstrators.
At the same time, these foreign media did not report on the criminal actions of the bandits, related to seizure of arms and hostages, freeing prisoners and attacking administrative buildings in Andijan, he said.
All materials of the investigation will be made public during and after the court process.
The working group members also saw video and other materials revealing criminal intentions of the organizers of Andijan events.
