President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenepatentuary of Russia to Uzbekistam Farit Muhametshin at presidential residence Oqsaroy on 20 June.

The sides discussed issues on further development of strategic relations between Uzbekistan and Russia.

It was noted that the strategic partnership treaty, signed on 16 June 2005, serves to development of ties between countries in all spheres. The sides said that the document meets interests of both countries.

Farit Muhametshin handed over a letter of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Uzbek head.
