In Uzbekistan, there is an active implementation of e-government and its various modules. Experts estimate that in the next few years this work will significantly improve the transparency of public authorities and reduce their costs.
Among the leaders of introduction of modern information and communication technologies - state tax authorities. From the beginning, they have launched seven kinds of interactive services. In general, today over 75% of services of the State Tax Committee, in whole or in part, are provided in an interactive format.
Such close attention of state tax authorities to the IT-sphere can be understood. With introduction of new technologies, accountants’ queues have disappeared at tax authorities, who now deliver reports via the Internet using a digital signature. This saves time and money as entrepreneurs themselves, as well as regulatory authorities. At the same time, in the process of technology adoption one cannot rest on laurels, we must constantly keep up with the times. Therefore, one of the main directions in the work of the national tax service - gain experience in the provision of services through a variety of mobile devices and the global network.
Still, the services provided through mobile devices are limited because of their inability to use for sending tax returns. However, they are ideal for a customer to receive information via SMS-messages. The tax authorities already using this functionality provides individuals with information about their debt on the property tax and land. Also with the help of SMS one can get tax identification number and other background information.
Many residents of Uzbekistan have already appreciated the convenience of new services, the number of users is growing. After all, such a method can significantly save time and receive information at any place and without much cost. Almost all have had occasions when TIN was needed, and the form was not at hand. Now, instead of having to go through the city home for the document, one can simply use his/her mobiles. To note, all of the information from the databases of the State Tax Service is provided at no cost to taxpayers.
Today, the tax authorities of the country are working on the development of this area and the use of accumulated technical capabilities to provide new services.
