Over 629.6 million tonnes of cargoes transported in Uzbekistan in 1H
Over 629.6 million tonnes of cargoes were transported by all types of transport in Uzbekistan in January-June 2013, which grew by 4.5% year-on-year, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The committee said that the freight turnover was 40.5 billion tonnes-km and has exceeded the level of January- June 2012 by 4%.
Some 564.1 million tons of freights were carried by motor transport, which is 4.5% more than in January-June 2012. The freight turnover has increased by 5.8% to 11.6 billion tonnes-km.
The freight turnover of motor transport of individual entrepreneurs has exceeded the level of January-June 2012 by 6.7% and was 8.6 billion tonnes-km. The share of private carriers in total freight turnover of motor transport was 74.3% versus 73.7% in January-June 2012.
Over 9,800 tonnes of freights were carried by air transport which is 17,8% lower than in January-June 2012. The freight turnover has decreased by 13.8% and was 52.1 million tonnes-km.
The freight turnover of main pipelines has increased by 5.6% and was 17,2 billion t-km.

In January-June 2013, retail trade turnover in Uzbekistan was 7.7 trillion soums
In January-June 2013 in the structure of retail trade, the share of food products - 51.8 percent and of non-food products - 48.2 percent (in January-June 2012 - 50.1 and 49.9 percent respectively) reports the information service of the State Committee of Statistics of Uzbekistan.
Turnover of retail firms reached 7,712.5 billion soums an increase by 15.4 percent compared to January-June 2012, which is 37.3 percent of the total retail trade.
Turnover of retail firms in rural areas was 22.3 percent of the total turnover.
The sale of agricultural products and livestock in farmer markets increased by 12.6 percent and reached 8704.5 billion soums, 42.1 percent of the total retail turnover
The retail turnover of commodity and specialty markets was 4,247.7 billion soums or an increase by 17.3 percent than in the same period in 2012, 20.6 percent of the total turnover.
The size of paid services to population in January-June 2013 amounted to 7,955.7 billion soums, or 111.0 per cent compared to January-June 2012.
The bulk of paid services to population was carried out by official sector of the economy and amounted to 5,261.5 billion soums (66.1 percent of the total) an increase by 10.2 percent.
The size of paid services by private enterprises increased by 12.6 percent and amounted to 2694.2 billion soums, 33.9 percent of the total size of paid services.
In the total size of paid services to the population, the share of the private sector accounted for 81.1 percent.
In the total size of paid services, household services accounted for 6.1 percent, or 485.9 billion soums. Their real output increased by 15.7 percent.
In household services 85.5 per cent of services are carried out by private enterprises. The size of services in this sector increased by 14.3 percent and amounted to 415.5 billion soums.
The total size of market services for all types was 28,002.2 billion soums, a real growth of 12.1 percent compared with January-June 2012
High growth rates were achieved in: computer programming services - 130.2 percent; financial services - 128.5 percent; construction services - 126.6 percent; health services - 126.4 percent; service repair and maintenance of agricultural machinery - 125.2 percent , information and communication - 121.5 percent; personal - 117.7 percent; repair and maintenance service - 116.9 percent; agricultural services - 115.3 percent, trade and public catering services - 115 , 2 percent.
In the structure of services transport services dominated (including logistics) - 28.6 per cent of all the services, trade and catering services (21.4 percent), financial services (9.1 percent), communication and information services (6.0 percent).
