First sitting of working group to monitor Andijan event investigation held
Uzbekistan proposed to create a working group to monitor the investigation and measures of the Uzbek government to stabilize the situation in Andijan, to include representatives of the diplomatic missions of Russia, China, the US, France, India, Pakistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
The prioirty is to guarantee a broad representation of all interested sides, including world and regional powers and neighbors.
On June 8 at the Foreign ministry the first session of the working group met.
Ambassadors and diplomats from Russia, China, Iran, India, Pakaistan and all Central Asian states took part. The US and French embassies have not yet confirmed their participation, but are welcome to join the working group at any time.
At the meeting organizational questions were addressed. A secretariat was created.
Direct contacts of the working group with strategical-investigative groups of legal organs and the independent commission of the Oliy Majlis were established.
During the meeting, representatives of the parliamentary commission, the Foreign Ministry, the legal organs were present. The Uzbek side expressed readiness for all types of cooperation to ensure the objective activity of the group, guaranteeing access to all necessary materials.

Deputy Prime Minster and Foreign minister E.Ganiev took part in the meeting.
