In Honor of Active Women
The Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan has organized a cultural-enlightenment event in Tashkent in tribute to the 22nd anniversary of the independence of our Motherland. Representatives of women’s activities-related public associations in Tashkent’s mahallas, education institutions, organizations and enterprises were invited to the meeting.
The deputy hokim (mayor) of the city of Tashkent, chairperson of the city women’s committee F.Abdurahmanova and other speakers at the event noted that during the independent development years, wide-ranging efforts have been in progress under the leadership of President Islam Karimov designed to safeguard the institution of family, maternity and childhood, to assist girls in obtaining modern knowledge and profession, attain a worthwhile place in life, and create necessary labor conditions for women. All this has served to boost the status of women in the family and society.
The scales of endeavors on this front have been enhancing in the Year of Wellbeing and Prosperity.
“More than two thousand women and girls reside in our mahalla,” says Nafisa Saidakbarova, chair of the women’s primary organization in the Istiklol mahalla assembly of citizens in Tashkent’s Almazar district. “A special emphasis is placed on assisting the youths who finished school, on engaging girls in secondary special and vocational education, on employment of college graduates. Remarkable outcomes are apparent also from the extensive establishment of interaction among the family, mahalla, education institution and the primary organization of the women’s committee.”
The most enthusiastic chairpersons of women’s primary organizations of the capital city, as well as consultants on religious enlightenment and spiritual-ethical education were awarded souvenirs from the Women’s Committee of Uzbekistan.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chair of the Women’s Committee of the Republic E.Basitkhanova delivered a speech at the event.
