The share of light industry in total industrial output of Uzbekistan was 12.6%
Deepening processes of structural changes in the industry, implementation of measures for production of import-substituting and export-oriented production in Uzbekistan, ensured continuation of the dynamic development of light industry enterprises which in January-July 2013 produced production at 4199.8 billion soums, or 115.9% of the corresponding period last year. (Currency rates of CB from 21.08.2013 1$=2119.73 soums),
During the reporting period, cotton industry enterprises produced goods to 984.3 billion soums (118.2% compared to January-July 2012), knitting industry - to 405.0 billion soums (130.9%), clothing industry - 398, 7 billion soums (123.2%), and leather - for 219.7 billion soums (121.2%).
Compared with the corresponding period of last year large enterprises of light industry increased production of mixed fabrics - by 2,2 times, knitted fabrics - by 1,6 times, and cotton fabric - 1.4 times, knitwear - 1.4 times, cotton yarn - 1.3 times.
Stable development of light industry of the country also allowed to exceed production rates of the previous year for following types of products: textile fancy goods - by 4.3 times, threads of raw silk - 1.5 times, hosiery - 1.3 times, carpets and carpet products - by 14.6%.
The share of light industry in total industrial output in January-July this year was 12.6%.
