Round table considers environment issues, women\'s activity
An international meeting on \"Healthy family ? basis of healthy society\" was held in Tashkent on 7 June. The round table, devoted to the Year of Health in Uzbekistan, discussed problems of environment, monitoring of man-caused and ecological processes.
Institute for Studying Civil Society, Uzbekistan Liberal Democratic Party (UzLiDep), Sharq Ayoli international women\'s foundation, Mehr association of women\'s non-governmental organizations, Federation for fighting AIDS and exogenous etiologies organized the event.
Activists of mahalla citizens\' gathering, women\'s committees, Party organizations of Tashkent and district councils of UzLiDep, as well as specialists of healthcare system participated in discussions.
\"We accepted with a great interest the invitation to participate in events, organized by our colleagues in women\'s non-governmental organizations of Uzbekistan,\" the president of Women Bankers association (Ukraine) L.Ponomareva noted in her speech.
\"I think that our experience of increasing women\'s status in the society, their involvement in active entrepreneurship activity through creation of Women\'s Banking Networks, will be useful and interesting for Uzbek women engaged in banking sector,\" she said.
Svetlana Ierusalimtseva, head of Sharq Ayoli representative office in Russia, told about measures on attraction of foreign investments in development of scientific and technical potential of the country, proposed a program of attracting interest in cultural heritage of the Uzbek people, cited offers on education of youth in Russian higher educational establishments and their further integration into the processes of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
Other participants made offers on application of innovative technologies, enhancement of ecology in Uzbekistan and other countries of the region. Participants also considered reasons of births with various pathologies as a result of closely related marriages, drug addiction.
On results of the meeting, participants approved recommendations for state and non-governmental organizations on formation of life philosophy oriented on healthy mode of living, harmonic physical and spiritual development of person.
