143.891 individuals use SMS- and mobile- banking in Uzbekistan
Today, the domestic banking sector is becoming an active player in the provision of services using the most advanced technologies. This clearly demonstrates the ever-increasing number of customers using SMS- and Internet banking.
The accelerated entry into our lives of information and communication technologies has significantly increased the level of services to the public. Today, a plastic card has become one of the major accessories of every Uzbekistani. If just five or ten years ago, the mobile banking service seemed to us a bit unrealistic, today it is the same everyday service, such as payment for electricity and gas. The remote bank account control system allows to make any payments in real time, monitor cash flow and, therefore, reduces the time and expense. At present the country has 46,124 Internet banking users and the system “Client-Bank”, 143.891 people use the SMS-banking and mobile banking. And the number of users of these systems is constantly increasing.
Remote customer service cannot be imagined without ATMs and kiosks. To date, cash machine for its ease of use displaces traditional communication client and a cashier, acting as a kind of mini-office bank. For customer convenience, ATM machines are connected to a single information network that allows customers to use their various banks. At present, all over the country has more than 1,460 ATMs and kiosks, and the number of plastic cards issued and outstanding, exceeded 9.7 million pieces. It should be noted that an increase in kinds of phases and the number of operations using “plastic”. Last year alone, the volume of cashless payments exceeded 8.7 trillion soums, which is higher than in 2011 by 50%. (Currency rates of CB from 14.08.2013 1$=2111.45soums).
A new stage in technological development of the sphere was launched on 1 July of this year, a joint project of the “Single National Processing Center” and Aloqabank, which allows cardholders to pay for various services in real time.
This project was named E-Pos Terminals. Its users may be all UZKART cardholders. To do this, customers only need to connect to the SMS-notifications of Aloqabank, and then register on the site www.uzkart.uz. The client can pay for the service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The list of services that are available for online card holders, includes payment of cellular subscribers Ucell, Uzmobile, city telephone, Internet Uztelecom. The service of Project “E-pos terminals” can be taken advantage by cardholders who are clients of any bank in Uzbekistan, and service providers to register the “E-pos terminals” should be customers Aloqabank.
It should be noted that in comparison with the payment of Paynet, users of “e-pos terminals” do not make commission payments, which allows to use own funds in full. The advantage of the “E-pos terminals” is a convenience, speed, efficiency and product payment guarantee real time.
