Organization of journalists in Uzbekistan put forward a suggestion to initiate national award in journalism on 7 June.

Journalists\' Union of Uzbekistan and International Centre on Retraining of Journalists called the government of Uzbekistan, mass media and international organizations to initiate national award in journalism.

The initiators said that the organizational committee, which includes representatives of media organizations, would announce winners of award on the eve of 3 May, World Press Freedom Day.

The award will be issued in four nominations, including television, radio, print and internet journalism. It is also planned to issue encouragement prizes.
