Seven Steps onto History
It is barely possible to stop admiring the beauties of the pearl of the East - Samarqand. Unique and beautiful are its surroundings. Thus, in 40 kilometers from the city in the village of Gus there is a memorial complex of Gavsul Azam that carefully preserves the history of the people.

The complex consists of several buildings: a mausoleum, several open ayvans, a local history museum, a circular brick construction resembling sardoba (underground storage of water). On the top area, right at the entrance of the museum opens a picturesque scene. The whole village is spread before the eyes. The exposition of the museum fully reflects the way of life of locals, and the echoes of historical events. Founded over 100 years ago, the museum today has kept its original appearance. Articles of the history are kept here with great care, including ancient jars (kumghons), lagans (large plates for palov) and stone grinders, ethnic clothing and suzani. Thanks to the efforts of the employees of the complex, and, the museum in particular, all of the exhibits preserved their original appearance.

Often, it is from here tourists begin their exciting journey to the centuries-old chinors (plane trees). According to them, this museum, as well as the whole memorial complex is one of the treasures of the historical heritage, the monument of cultural riches of the generations.

Tourists are constantly visiting this place. According to a legend, when a pilgrim is going to visit this place, his or her intentions are herd by Pir Gavsul Azam Abdulqodir, and after seven steps taken by a pilgrim from the gate this saint’s house, he helps him or her on the way.
