The volume of production of food products in Uzbekistan grew by 7.1% year-on-year to 3.723 trillion soums in January-June 2013, the State Statistics Committee said (Currency rates of CB from 22.07.2013, 1$=2096,19 soums).

The enterprises of the industry increased production of bread and bread products by 20.4%, macaroni products – 47.4%, edible oil – 24.4%, dairy products – 37.9%, tinned vegetables and fruits – 1.5 times, margarine products – 28.3%, tinned fish – 12.6%, meat and meat products – 7.1%, laundry soap – 7%, mineral water – 12% and ice cream – 1.5%.

Uzbekistan also recorded growth in production of edible alcohol (7.9%), vodka and beverage (5.4%), cognac (+5.4%) and Champaign (+3.3%). (Source: Uzdaily.com)
