Priority in Materializing the Energy Potential
Three thermal power plants are building the cutting edge combined-cycle plants



In the first half of 2013, Uzbekistan completed the construction of high-tension transmission lines with total length of 435.4 kilometers.

Uzbekenergo has summed up the first half of 2013. The production volume in the sector made up 100.6%. The consumers of the country were supplied 21.5 billion kWh of electricity and 4.2 million Gcal of heat energy.

Export performance was boosting as well. For instance, enterprises of the company delivered electricity through direct contracts to neighboring countries, provided network maintenance services and conducted design and survey works.

Upgrade and construction of new generating facilities using the most advanced technology and equipment is one of the major activities of Uzbekenergo. Today, three thermal power plants of the company (Talimarjon, Tashkent and Navoi) are building new combined-cycle plants. The Tashkent HPP has completed the installation of a gas turbine plant with a capacity of 27 MW; the start-up operations are underway.

The construction of a high-voltage line Talimarjon TPP - Sogdiana of 500 kV and 216 km in length has completed as well. The company\'s specialists keep working on another major project: they are building a high-voltage line Sirdaryo TPP – Yangi-Angren TPP of 500 kV.

Enterprises of the company carry out some tangible work on introduction of modern electronic electricity meters. As of the start of their introduction, the legal consumers installed 229,000 three-phase and 124,800 single-phase meters, and domestic consumers - 13.1 million three-phase and 2,679 thousand single-phase units.

Under the Year of Wellbeing and Prosperity an industry program was developed to improve the power supply of the population and further enhance the quality and standard of life of the energy industry staff, strengthen the logistical base of objects of social and cultural purposes. In the first half of 2013 the cost of activities under the industry program amounted to 82.9 billion soums (Currency rates of CB from 19.07.2013 1$=2101.48 soums)/ .(Source: “Uzbekistan Today” newspaper)
