Jizzakh SIZ to Connect to Infrastructure
17 different projects to be implemented

A program of accelerated development of the transport, industrial and engineering infrastructure Jizzakh SIZ has been approved for 2013-2015 in Uzbekistan.

The country continues to create a new, the third Jizzakh Special Industrial Zone, designed to provide additional inflow of foreign and domestic investments, the expense of which the modern high-tech industrial production will be organized, specializing in the production of competitive products. This will also effectively utilize production and resource potential of the Jizzakh and Sirdaryo regions.

The new program includes activities for the construction and reconstruction of the road and rail infrastructure, the development of water supply, irrigation and drainage, as well as the reconstruction of the electricity and gas networks. In particular, it will be implemented 17 different projects worth more than US$48.3m, of which more than US$29.4m will be used by the end of 2015, but still more than US$18.8m - to the end of 2018. The bulk of spending in the first two years will be covered by the State Budget, from which will be allocated US$21.3m. Another US$4.5m – will be directed by international financial institutions, US$2.9m - own funds of enterprises. Based on the funds, 5 road construction projects, 3 rail infrastructure projects, 5 water supply and sanitation projects and 2 electricity and gas supply projects will be implemented.

On arrangements for construction and reconstruction of 21 km of roads for Jizzakh SIZ is planned to spend US$20.3m, sections of the rail infrastructure - US$2.25m. This investment is projected to be spent through to 2015. In water supply, irrigation and drainage, only US$24.8m is to be invested in 2013-2018.

For construction and reconstruction of electric networks, in the next two years will be allocated US$406.7m. By the end of 2013, an overhaul of 110/35/10 Sanoat-1 is provided for a total of US$239.2m, and in 2014 – an overhaul of 220/110/10 kV Substation Feruz with feeders of 110 L-Rohat and of 110 L-Feruz (for a branch of the Jizzakh SIZ in the Syrdarya region) with a total value of US$167.5m.

For construction and reconstruction of gas supply networks will be allocated US$507.1 thousand. In 2014 is planned a construction of the supply pipeline D-219 mm with GDS \"Tashkent-6\" to the industrial area a total value of US$454.5m in 2015 plans to build the gas line of the D-114-159 mm in the pipeline \"Peng-Sheng\" to the industrial site (for a branch of the Jizzakh SIZ in the Sirdaryo region) for US$52.6 thousand.

To note, the Government has the right to an administrative board the Jizzakh Special Industrial Zone to make changes and additions to the approved program based on the priority of ensuring the newly established facilities in its territory the transport, industrial, engineering and communication infrastructures.

In addition, the document until 1 January 2014 at the same time allowed the development of design and estimate documentation to finance the construction and reconstruction of infrastructure Jizzakh SIZ, included in the program, as well as administrative buildings of the Jizzakh SIZ and Angren SIZ.
