Cars Made in Uzbekistan
2,000,000th car is expected to come off the assembly line of GM Uzbekistan in Asaka just in few weeks. The company continues increasing its production volumes through the development of production capacity not only in the plant under Andijon.

At present, the plant of GM Uzbekistan in Asaka manufactures Matiz, Spark, Damas, Nexia, Cobalt and Lacetti models under the Chevrolet brand.

The production meets the international standards ISO 9001:2000, ISO / FDIS 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:1999, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 9001:2008, as certified.

GM Uzbekistan is constantly increasing the manufacture of passenger cars. In 2010 it produced more than 217,000 vehicles.

Last year the indes reached more than 222,000 cars. The volume growth is achieved through the development of manufacture not only in Asaka, but also in other towns of the country.

Meanwhile, the plant under Andijon remains the largest capacity and fastest growing manufacture of GM Uzbekistan. The launch of the press workshop ¹2 in 2010 intended for the production of big spare components for Cobalt and Lacetti, and welding shop ¹ 2 for Spark and Cobalt in 2012 empowered the expansion of the brand range. The second production base is located in Tashkent. Here the company produces Malibu and Captiva.

The third production base is currently built in Khorazm region. The manufacture of Damas cars will move there from Asaka. This will not only increase the number of production cars of this brand, but will also expand their range.

Facts and Figures

In 2012 GM Uzbekistan sold 108,500 cars abroad, and 127,300 cars at home. Of these more than 236,000 cars were produced at the plant in Asaka. Last year, the total cost of cars produced by GM Uzbekistan amounted to 62% of the total value of all goods issued by companies of the region. (Source: “Uzbekistan Today” newspaper)
